"Chicken Shit." by Mike Pitzer

$5,000.00

I call this painting “Chicken Shit” because I didn’t have the balls to jump in and pursue my art career while attending ArtCenter College of Design. I liked money, and the idea of being a starving artist didn’t sit well with me, so I became an advertising Art Director.

I struggled with passion and pride. Passion (left purple edge) for creating art and pride (right orange edge) in the results of my work. And is one emotion bringing me more pleasure? The paint surface, between left and right, is cracking, symbolizing being pulled between these two powerful emotions.
