Wilson T3000 Tennis Racquet | Original Pop-Realism Drawing by Mike Pitzer

This 2025, pop-realism drawing by Mike Pitzer presents a detailed study of a Wilson T3000 Tennis Racquet, rendered with graphite and Prismacolor pencils. The composition isolates the racquet against a stark white background, emphasizing its vintage design and precise craftsmanship. The metal frame is depicted with crisp, reflective surfaces that capture the racquet’s solid construction, while the tightly strung strings and worn grip reveal subtle textural contrasts. Pitzer’s artwork balances clarity and depth, inviting close examination of an iconic object that blends functionality with enduring style. The piece conveys a quiet reverence for everyday sports equipment through careful observation and refined technique.

From the Artist:

I’m excited to share my latest vintage racquet, my “Wilson T3000 Tennis Racquet”. Measuring 36" wide by 72" tall, this pop-realism drawing brings to life a classic tennis racket I’ve long admired. Created entirely with colored pencils and graphite on paper, the work captures the precise details—from the metallic gray frame to the crisp red fibre-strings and textured leather-wrapped brown grip—set against a clean white background.

It’s a blend of pop-realism that pays tribute to an object tied to my own history on the Algonac High School tennis team. This piece is as much about technique as it is about memory, and I hope it resonates with anyone who appreciates thoughtful craftsmanship and the quiet beauty found in everyday items.
